The 2010 Stewardship Campaign Has Begun!
We hope you can pledge generously for the 2010 year. We definitely need it. But, just as importantly, we need your commitments! Thank you! If you would like to pledge on-line, click here.
Give them an inquiring and discerning heart, the courage to will and to persevere, a spirit to know and to love you, and the gift of joy and wonder in all your works.
— The Book of Common Prayer
Fellow Parishioners,
These are some of the earliest words we profess in our initiation to the Christian Church. These words have renewed relevance today. We have, with God’s help, made it through one of the most challenging economic times in history. Our community has struggled mightily with this recession. And yet, as the Dean reminded us on Homecoming Sunday, there is this glorious prayer that moors us in the heaving waters of our times.
Joy and wonder are about pausing, taking time, to revel in God’s grace and glory, even doing ordinary routines! Routines like Sunday services, Wednesday night dinner, and morning prayer. There, we discover that joy are wonder are not about what we have, but about what we give away. Joy and wonder are not about what we take in, but about what we exude.
Though we are hardly out of the woods in the current economy, we have an opportunity to embrace the Gospel’s call of God’s abundance for all. We can share, and contribute, and radiate our joy and wonder. We can exemplify a wave of purpose, and confidence, and grace. We can care for this Cathedral and God’s people.
And, with God’s help, the joy and wonder will spread. Joy and wonder will make us better parents, and educators, and children. Joy and wonder will make us better gardeners, and lawyers, and stewards. Joy and wonder will release all of our gifts, financial and otherwise.
Join us then. And with God’s help, we will all have the gift of joy and wonder to give this year.

Annual Stewardship Drive to Support the Operating Budget
All members of the Cathedral family are given the opportunity and privilege of making an annual pledge. (click here for online pledge; click here to make online payment) When you are asked to make a monetary pledge and to participate in the work of this Cathedral, please do so knowing that you are giving back a part of God's gifts to you.
"All things come of thee, O Lord, and of thine own have we given thee."
With these familiar words we acknowledge that all we have in the way of materials, goods and talents are gifts from God. Stewardship requires that we contribute to God's work in and through the Cathedral, not only with our time, varied abilities and talents, but that we prayerfully make a commitment of our financial support. When we give sacrificially, we are giving back to God what is already his.
Our total stewardship giving is a reflection of our personal values and priorities. While the General Convention of the Episcopal Church and the Council of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta have acknowledged the biblical standard of the ten percent tithe for Christian giving, it is up to us as individuals to decide how much and in what form we will support the work of this parish.
Endowment Fund. A gift to the Endowment Fund supports the Cathedral's ministries in perpetuity. Using its dividend and interest income, the Endowment Fund assists in meeting extraordinary capital needs and in underwriting special ministries and projects. Gifts can be made in life, by bequest or on a deferred basis. Many of these offer significant benefits to the donor. For more information, call the Office of Stewardship/Development at 404-365-1033.
Stewardship Leaders. If you would like to take a more active part in the programs surrounding stewardship, please contact David Rocchio, Director of Stewardship, 404-365-1033, to learn more about opportunities for participation.
