When a name is added to the Prayer List, they are listed in the Times newsletter (if requested) and they will be prayed for at the Sunday services, as well as daily by members of prayer teams. Please note that due to privacy issues, hospitals no longer notify us when a member is a patient, therefore we depend on family and friends to let us know when a parishioner has been admitted.

The Pastoral Care Department of the Cathedral has clergy available for counsel and visitation: The Rev. Canon Carolynne Williams. She is assisted by The Rev. Canon Todd Smelser, The Rev. The Cathedral Counseling Center, located at the Lanier House on the Cathedral campus, is a satellite office of the Care and Counseling Center of Georgia under the direction of the Reverend Eloise Hally, who is the Cathedral Center’s Director. For appointments, call 404-841-4953.

Pre-Marital Workshops are conducted in conjunction with Care and Counseling of Georgia one Saturday each month. For more information, please contact Donna Reed (404-636-1457, extension 0). A brochure (including registration form) is available: download 2008-2009 dates.

Clergy of the Day. Every day of the week, one of the Cathedral clergy is on call to respond to emergencies, and to visit those in the hospital. If you have an emergency when the offices are closed, please call 404-365-1000 and say "Pastoral Emergency."

Prayer List. To add a name to the Prayer List, please contact Dan Murphy in the Pastoral Care office, 404-365-1034. Prayer cards are also available at the receptionist window at the church. Names usually remain on the Prayer List for a month. Note that due to privacy issues, the person must give permission to have their name on the Prayer List.

Stephen Ministry. Stephen Ministers are trained members of the parish who offer companionship, empathetic listening and comfort to fellow members of the parish. They work with the clergy to assist in the Cathedral's pastoral ministry. Learn more about Stephen Ministry.

Wedding Guild. These members coordinate all weddings in the chapel and Cathedral, especially working with brides before the wedding, and assisting at the rehearsal and wedding. Contact Dan Murphy to schedule a wedding.

Funeral Committee assists the clergy and family members at the time of a funeral at the Cathedral, providing support for those attending.

Home-Bound Ministry. Visitation and home communion are provided for members who are unable to attend church. Clergy and other parish members regularly visit the Cathedral Towers, Canterbury Court, Lenbrook Square, Campbell Stone and Nursecare of Buckhead, in addition to all the hospitals and rehabilitation centers.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers bring the sacrament of Holy Communion from the Sunday Eucharist to those who are sick or shut-in at home. Please contact Dan Murphy, 404-365-1034, in the Pastoral Care office to arrange.

Noonday Prayers. Every weekday and Saturday at noon, the Cathedral's intercessory prayer list is prayed for in the chapel.
